Our mission here at the Adopt A Single Mom Project as a social care and lifestyle organization is to create a movement providing direct support to empower working single moms of NEPA and beyond filling the gaps with a network of sustainable resources and support to enhance their quality of life so they can be the best version of themselves to thrive as moms and women of our community.

This annual Community Resource Event is just one way we are living this mission.

It's a collaborative effort of community agencies, non-profits, and businesses, and the Adopt A Single Mom Project.

This event is organized with a three-fold purpose:

1. To provide awareness and opportunity of resources available to working single moms throughout NEPA who otherwise would not be able to learn about and have access to these resources due to work and school schedules, and limited childcare.

It's common for community agencies to operate on the same schedules that our members are working and agencies/service providers do not typically have weekend hours, after-hours calls, or online access for information which makes it extremely difficult for applying and accessing potential benefits.

2. To provide a meaningful social experience for working single moms and her children by eliminating the possible financial barrier. The #1 most requested support from the working single mom community is meaningful social and emotional support.

3. Opportunity to network with other women, community experts and professionals, as long as, local agency/businesses to expand knowledge and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

For this reason, we are committed to help remove barriers, create ease of access, and a sense of community and connection in the process for members and invited guests of the Adopt a Single Mom Project.

This Year's Theme: Glimmers of Hope

Hope is one of the most powerful expressions to sustain us to hold on when things are hard and for looking to the future believing what is ahead is better than the present.

You attending this event in community with other moms, women going through what you're going through, on a similar journey, longing for those same life outcomes to thrive, to have healthy happy children gives each of us hope knowing we're not alone...we're supported in presence with others...others who care and know you matter too.

Each glimmer is a shared moment, a collaborative effort that adds to the sparkle of hope.

Let's seek and acknowledge collectively the glimmers in our daily lives that inspire, give us courage, strength, and the outlook of hope for manifesting a greater future and thriving life.

What is a glimmer? A momentary positive experience that relieves our stress and worry with an attitude of hope

  • Small moments that spark joy and make you smile
  • A positive outcome and you know everything is going to be okay
  • Getting a text message from a friend just checking in letting you know you're not alone
  • Seeing a rainbow and setting a positive intention that something good is coming
  • Feeling gratitude for someone's act of kindness
  • Getting an unexpected compliment or a smile from a passing stranger
  • A much needed hug
  • The smell of your favorite food
  • A quiet moment without someone needing you

Our intention is for this event to not only allow you to get resources with important and helpful information but to also create the space and introductions for you to feel connected and to be inspired and encouraged...leave more HOPEFUL!

Join us in celebrating these elements that make our community strong, our collaborations meaningful, and the connection on our individual journey towards thriving brighter our beacon of inspiration.
